García Pimienta: “I think we'll see a good game, because we're two teams that want the ball and to attack.”

The coach expects a tough match, especially as they're playing at home and need points to stay in the European race.

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!

García Pimienta appeared on Friday in the press room at the Ciudad Deportiva where he stated: “The team has been aware all week of the bad streak we're in, which unfortunately is tarnishing the magnificent season we've had. We're eager to turn this situation around, because it's not pleasant for anyone.”

Here are some of his statements:

“Real Sociedad is a Champions League team, which eliminated PSG. Additionally, they were Copa del Rey semifinalists, and now they're in contention for Europe. They have a great squad, and when you look at the roster, you realize they can field a top-level starting eleven, which will be equally challenging despite their absences.”

“We've always gone out to win, although things happen in matches. Unfortunately, doing things well doesn't guarantee that we'll accumulate points. What's clear is that we've lost six consecutive games and we need to gather points. Winning the game is the intention, but if we see that a draw is positive afterward, we'll be happy.”

“Our fortune is that we depend on ourselves. There are five games left, and we're eleven points above relegation. If they had told us at the beginning of the season that we would be in this situation, we would have signed it with closed eyes, myself included. But it's clear that regardless of external results, we have to break this streak because it's not pleasant for anyone. It's not fair, and especially the fans deserve better than experiencing these tough times.”

“Our plan B is to execute plan A much better, always. What's clear is that when you play against very good teams, you have to be prepared to possess the ball as much as possible. Because that's what we want. But when we don't have the ball, we have to try to prevent them from playing their best football.”
