Kirian Rodríguez: "I'm trying to contribute everything I can to the team."

Yellow player Kirian Rodríguez spoke to the media at the press room of the Gran Canaria Stadium following the team's training session ahead of the match against UD Almería.

Regarding the upcoming match against UD Almería, he mentioned, "Almería will mainly try to disrupt our ball circulation. They've conceded a lot of goals, but I expect an attractive game because they don't play for their spot in the table."

He characterized UD Almería's situation as one where they "consider these points as 'must not lose.' Almería has conceded 29 goals and scored 13, so they will aim to maintain a defensive strategy, and we'll try to extend the match. They'll have to go for the win right from the start."

On Jonathan Viera's situation, he said, "It's a personal matter; you'd have to ask him. Every person is different, and they experience it in their own way. I went through a similar situation last year, but I handled it differently from my family. If he were experiencing it firsthand, he'd probably accept it better and feel more at ease."

On a personal level, Kirian mentioned, "I tend to be very self-critical with myself. While I have many ball recoveries, most of them come after a tackle or interception and not in one-on-one duels, which I could improve on in my defensive midfield role. I've been playing football for 23 years. The ball is the same in all categories; perhaps the difference in La Liga is the speed of play."

He concluded, "We have two games left before facing Atlético Madrid. We need to secure points against Almería and then move on to the Copa del Rey. After that, we have two days left to prepare for the match against Atlético."
