The UD Las Palmas fell in Seville with character (1-0).

UD Las Palmas tried until the last minute, until the final play. But the points stayed this Sunday at the Benito Villamarín stadium, where the local fans ended up boosting their team and asking for the final whistle. The 1-0 result was questioned by the yellows in the second half, with a wave of opportunities that didn't materialize due to goalkeeper Vieites aborting some chances and also due to imprecision in their finishing.

There are no reactions yet. Be the first!

Only the goal scored by former Las Palmas player Willian José in the first half went up on the scoreboard. However, after that 1-0, the players under García Pimienta reacted with numerous initiatives that deserved the reward of an equalizer.

UD Las Palmas approached the visit to Betis with character, amidst a notable atmosphere in the stands of the Sevillian stadium. The first attacking action was early from the yellows, with a cross from Munir that Marvin Park couldn't connect in front of the goal. Barely two minutes had passed since the start of the match.

Betis also displayed their offensive potential by creating plays through Isco Alarcón. Valles had work to do, rejecting several shots until the 18th minute when the initial goal of the night arrived. Betis took advantage of a ball loss to set up a lethal counterattack. Isco's shot was saved by Valles, but Willian José followed up and scored into the net. There were doubts about Isco's initial position, but the VAR room didn't change the referee García Verdura's initial decision.

Las Palmas stepped up after the 1-0, although Valles intervened again after attempts from Willian José and Guido. However, the equalizer could have come before halftime through two plays from the visitors. In the 30th minute, Munir and Moleiro failed to connect for a center in the area. And in the 40th minute, local goalkeeper Vieites thwarted Marvin Park's shot after an initial play by Munir.

During the game break, García Pimienta made two changes by bringing in Julián Araujo and Enzo Loiodice, followed by the subsequent addition of Sandro. With his instructions and decisions, he managed to change the course of the match.

Chances kept coming in the danger zone of Las Palmas. Moleiro, Park, Kirian, and Sandro had their opportunities to equalize, especially the latter with a powerful shot that forced Vieites to make a splendid save at mid-height.

Sandro again found himself in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper, colliding with him in the area. The referee didn't see the penalty claimed by the Gran Canarians. This incident happened moments before Loiodice, in the 81st minute, shot close to the Sevillian goal.

The last significant action by the local goalkeeper came from Coco's shot, a prelude to the final moments where the ball hovered around their area until the 96th minute. But the scoreboard didn't change again.
