This Monday, the yellows defeated RC Celta 2-1 in a match filled with emotions and twists. Because first, the Galicians took the lead with a goal from Douvikas in the second half. But heroically, García Pimienta's players came back in the final stretch with a significant contribution from Marc Cardona. The forward was fouled for a penalty, converted by Viera, and in the 96th minute, he volleyed a fantastic shot for the definitive 2-1. With this result, Las Palmas once again leaves the relegation zone.

UD Las Palmas entered the final match of the eighth round with a noteworthy change in the starting lineup. Kirian took command and the captain's armband for the home team, while Jonathan Viera began his first game of the season on the bench.

The script planned by García Pimienta was followed in the early stages of the match. It was Las Palmas who organized the attacks against an opponent that made paths to their goal difficult and had a penchant for using the counterattack.

The first chances came through Munir, with two shots that came close to scoring. The Moroccan striker unleashed a powerful volley that narrowly missed Curva's goal. And later, somewhat forced, he shot straight into the hands of goalkeeper Villar.

The most worrying moment for Celta came at 16 minutes. The visiting goalkeeper stretched in the area to deflect a ball that was heading for his goal, following a cross from Pejiño.

As the minutes passed, the Islanders' dominance waned in intensity. At the same time, their opponent stepped onto yellow territory with greater determination. At 28 minutes, after Valles deflected a shot from Bamba, Norwegian Larsen hit the crossbar of Naciente's goal.

After that first scare, Larsen was again the protagonist, scoring a goal for Celta in the 33rd minute. However, the VAR room alerted referee Alberola Rojas about a clear foul in the initial action. Mika Mármol had been grabbed and brought down by Douvikas, preventing any action by the yellow defender. The referee noticed the foul in attack after reviewing it on the field monitor. The game returned to the original 0-0.

Las Palmas came back strongly in the second half. They took risks again in search of a goal. Their initiatives did not materialize against a Celta side that also expressed itself with a lot of danger on the counter. Larsen hit the post again in the 58th minute, and his teammate Douvikas, in a one-on-one with Valles, scored the 0-1 in the 66th minute. It was a tough blow, but not a final one.

The Gran Canaria siege increased in the final stretch of the match. The substitutes provided fresh air and energy to the yellow attack, which found its reward after a play by Marvin Park and Marc Cardona. The striker was fouled in the box, and the referee pointed to a penalty that Jonathan Viera, not without suspense, converted into the 1-1.

Las Palmas added more fervor to that final stretch of the night. Time and again, they poured their initiatives into the box until, with a minute left in extra time, Viera connected with Marc Cardona in the area, and from the forward's boots came the great goal that kept the points on the island.
